You are running and the thought arrives at kilometre three. The phone is at home. Raising the wrist, saying a sentence and lowering it again is the only capture that fits that moment. Notion does not have a watch app that I know of, and Siri on the watch does not pass notes to third-party apps, so right now that thought waits until you are back.
The feature I am considering is a small Instant Note app for Apple Watch. One screen: a button, the system dictation, a tag or two, Save. The row appears in your Notion database with the same tags you use on the phone.
How it would work
- A watchOS app built on the same Notion connection as the iPhone app. The watch gets the sign-in from the iPhone once; after that it can send notes on its own over Wi-Fi or cellular, and through the iPhone when it is nearby.
- Text comes from the watch’s dictation keyboard, the same one Messages uses. Apple’s newer on-device transcription from iOS 26 is not available on watchOS, so this would be dictation as Apple provides it on the wrist.
- Tags: you pick a short list of favourites on the phone, and the watch shows those as buttons. The full tag list of a large database would not fit on the screen, and I would not try.
- No connection: the note waits on the watch and is sent later. This matters on runs without the phone.
- A Smart Stack entry and a Control for the Action button on the Ultra would open the dictation screen directly, using the Control Widget API from watchOS 26.
What it would not be: “Hey Siri, add to Notion” on the watch. Apple does not offer that to third-party apps on watchOS. Siri capture on the iPhone is a separate idea, and the two are different pieces of work.
Wear OS is not part of this idea. It would be its own project, and I would rather ask about it separately than promise it here.
Is this built?
No. A watch app is a new target and, by my estimate, one to two weeks of work before tags and offline are done properly, so I want to see demand first. If you would dictate into Notion from the wrist, the button below is the vote.
